Uses

Cefixime Trihydrate is used to treat a wide range of susceptible bacterial infections, including:

• Respiratory tract infections – bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.
• Ear infections – acute otitis media (middle ear infection).
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs) – bladder and uncomplicated kidney infections.
• Throat and tonsil infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted bacterial infection).
• Typhoid fever (in some regions, when caused by susceptible Salmonella typhi and according to local treatment guidelines).
